Winners, Winners, Winners Big Prizes Claimed for PowerBall®, Instant Games, and Keno Plus
The $200,000 winning PowerBall® ticket sold in Rhode Island for the PowerBall® drawing on October 1 has been claimed by a Pawtucket man. The winner said he will use the money he won from the lucky Quick Pick ticket to pay off his mortgage. East Street Liquors in Pawtucket sold this ticket.
The $200,000 winning ticket matched all five numbers, but not the PowerBall® number. The player did not opt to purchase the Power Play® feature for an additional dollar on the wager, which would have turned his prize into $1,000,000!
There were also two winning PowerBall® tickets sold in Saturday night’s drawing that have not been claimed yet. Both tickets matched four numbers and the PowerBall® number. The standard payout for this type of win is $10,000. One of winners purchased the Power Play® feature for an additional dollar on the wager, and the prize was multiplied by 5, Saturday’s Power Play® number, to equal $50,000. Both the $50,000 and $10,000 winning tickets were sold from the Cumberland Farms at 3377 Post Rd., Warwick. Wednesday’s estimated PowerBall® jackpot is $86 million.
An Instant Ticket player from Ashaway, RI, also had a nice surprise over the long weekend when he scratched off a $20,000 prize on the Black Diamonds game. He gave the ticket to his wife and said “Happy Anniversary” since their anniversary is at the end of the month. The wife told him she’ll use the money to pay for the vinyl siding they just put on their house. Spicer Marketplace on Main Street in Ashaway sold that winning ticket. There are still 17 more $20,000 top prizes left in the Black Diamonds Instant Game.
Jeffrey Piette of North Smithfield had more than a tasty lunch yesterday afternoon. He went to Lindy’s Tavern on School Street in Woonsocket and played a $2 wager on a 7 spot quick pick Keno Plus ticket. He matched 7 out of 7 numbers to win the standard payout of $9,000. Since he added the Keno Plus feature and a 2 Multiplier came up, his prize became $18,000. He plans on buying some new equipment for his job with the winnings.
