$200,000 and $40,000 PowerBall® Winners

Saturday’s PowerBall® drawing was a lucky one, resulting in $200,000 and $40,000 winning PowerBall® tickets sold in Rhode Island.

The $200,000 winning ticket matched all five numbers, but not the PowerBall® number.  The $40,000 winning ticket matched four numbers and the PowerBall® number, which has a standard payout of $10,000.  However, that player opted to purchase the PowerPlay® feature for an additional dollar on the wager multiplying the $10,000 prize by four, Saturday’s PowerPlay® number, to equal $40,000.  The $200,000 winner did not purchase the PowerPlay® feature.  If the player had, the prize would have automatically become a $1,000,000 prize. 

Richard’s Pub at 3347 South County Trail, East Greenwich, sold the $200,000 winning PowerBall® ticket.  The $40,000 winning ticket was bought from the Mega Milk Mart at 1243 West Shore Rd., Warwick.  Both prizes have yet to be claimed.

Wednesday’s estimated jackpot is $173 million.
