Holiday Gifts Cashed In
Rhode Island Lottery winners are cashing in their big wins from the holidays. A woman from Warwick received the "'Tis the Season" Instant Ticket as gift from her nephew and won $35,000! She's never won anything more than $3 and plans on giving a lot of it back to her nephew. Colbea Enterprises on Pontiac Avenue sold the winning ticket.
Then, Amelia Desiata and her family from West Warwick claimed $10,000 from the Instant Ticket "Cash to Go" that she purchased at Breads n' Stuff on Main Street in West Warwick. She plans on fixing her mother's car and using some towards a new car for herself.
There was also a $10,000 PowerBall® winner from last night's drawing. The ticket matched four numbers and the PowerBall® number. The standard payout for this type of win is $10,000. However, if this player had opted to purchase the Power Play® feature for an additional dollar on the wager, the $10,000 prize would have been multiplied by 2, yesterday's Power Play® number, to equal $20,000.
Saturday's estimated jackpot PowerBall® jackpot is $25 million. The $1 Million Dollar Raffle drawing is Saturday at 11:00pm on WPRI. Limited Tickets are still available.
