PowerBall® Jackpot Jumps to $310 Million 2 $10,000 Winners in Rhode Island
The PowerBall® jackpot shot up to an estimated 310 million dollars for Saturday's drawing after no one hit it last night. This will be the 5th largest PowerBall® jackpot in the history of the game. The last time the PowerBall® jackpot was more than $300 million was in 2007.
If the jackpot gets hit on Saturday and the winner chooses the annuity option, the $310 million jackpot would be paid over 29 years in 30 installments. If the winner chooses the cash option, the lump sum payment is estimated at $193.4 million.
The gargantuan jackpot isn't the only PowerBall® news, as Rhode Island had two $10,000 winners from last night's draw. These tickets matched four numbers and the PowerBall® number to win the $10,000 payout. If the players had opted for the PowerPlay® option for an extra $1 on their wager, the prize would have increased to $40,000.
The winning tickets were sold from Stop & Shop at 2470 Warwick Ave., Warwick and Broadway Mart at 1049 South Broadway, East Providence.
All players should sign the back of their tickets immediately upon purchase so no one else can wrongfully claim their prize should their ticket be lost or stolen.
