Two $10,000 Winning PowerBall® Tickets Claimed
The wait is on for the $60 million PowerBall winner, but two $10,000 PowerBall winners decided not to postpone claiming their prizes any longer.
A Woonsocket woman cashed in her $10,000 winning ticket from the February 29 drawing. The lucky numbers she played are the same numbers she always uses and will continue to play to see if they'll bring her luck on hitting the big jackpot. The Healey News Store on Robinson Street in Wakefield sold the winning ticket.
Then a man from Riverside claimed a $10,000 PowerBall® prize from the February 8 drawing. He and his wife randomly picked the numbers they played and said they don't have any plans for the money yet. They purchased the ticket at Broadway Mart on South Broadway in East Providence.
Both of these winning tickets matched four numbers and the PowerBall® number, for a $10,000 prize. Had the winners opted to spend an additional $1 on their wager for the Power Play® feature, their prizes would have increased to $40,000.
Saturday’s estimated PowerBall® jackpot is $40 million.
