$250,000 Mega Millions® Winner in RI

The $250,000 winning ticket sold in Rhode Island for Friday night’s $148 million Mega Millions® drawing has been claimed by a gentleman from Smithfield, Rhode Island.

He and his family came to the Lottery Headquarters to claim. They plan to give some money to their children, grandchildren and donate to non-profits. They also plan to pay off some of their debt.

The ticket matched five numbers but not the Mega Ball number.  The player did not purchase the Megaplier® for an extra dollar on the wager.  If the player had, the $250,000 prize would have automatically become a $1,000,000 prize no matter what Megaplier® number was drawn.

Regency Mart at Three Regency Plaza in Providence sold the winning ticket.

Tomorrow's estimated Mega Millions® jackpot is $171 million.
