$40,000 "Black Pearls" Instant Ticket Winner $10,000 PowerBall® & $10,000 Mega Millions® Winners in Rhode Island
A gentleman from Pawtucket cashed in a $40,000 "Black Pearls" Instant Ticket he purchased at JD Stores on Willett Avenue in East Providence. He plans on buying some property in Cape Verde, where he's originally from.
Plus, as the Mega Millions® jackpot grows to an estimated $356 million, Rhode Island has a new $10,000 Mega Millions winner from Friday night's drawing. The ticket was purchased at the Stop & Shop on 622 George Washington Highway in Lincoln.
There was also a $10,000 winning PowerBall® ticket was sold in Rhode Island for Saturday's drawing. The Cumberland Farms on 295 Legris Avenue in West Warwick sold the winning ticket.
The Mega Millions® ticket matched four numbers, but not the Mega Ball number, which has a standard prize payout of $10,000. The winners did not purchase the PowerPlay® or Megaplier® features for an additional dollar on the wagers. The Megaplier® number was a 4 on Friday night’s drawing, so that $10,000 prize would have been quadrupled to equal $40,000. If the PowerBall® winner had opted for PowerPlay®, that prize would have also turned into $40,000. Both tickets have yet to be claimed.
Tomorrow's estimated Mega Millions® jackpot is $356 million and Wednesday's estimated PowerBall® jackpot is $50 million.
