Mega Millions® Jackpot Increased to $540 Million
$10,000 Mega Millions® Ticket Claimed
Jackpot fever across the country has led to high sales and a growing Mega Millions® jackpot that is breaking all world records! If the jackpot gets hit on Friday and the winner chooses the annuity option, the now $540 million jackpot would be paid over 26 years in equal installments. If the winner chooses the cash option, the lump sum payment is estimated at $389.8 million, which is also a world record.
The $10,000 Mega Millions® winning ticket from Tuesday night's drawing has been claimed by a woman from Cranston. She said she usually buys tickets when the jackpot gets high and plans to use the money to go on vacation. The quick pick ticket matched four numbers and the Mega Ball number to win the $10,000 payout. If she had opted for the Megaplier® option for an extra $1 on the wager, the prize would have been multiplied by three, Tuesday's Megaplier® number, to equal $30,000.
The winning ticket was sold from La Esquina Market at 274 Webster Ave., Providence.
