3 High Tier Mega Millions® Winning Tickets Sold in RI
Record Mega Millions® sales led to record-breaking jackpots and a record number of winning Mega Millions® tickets sold in Rhode Island.
Across the country, Mega Millions® sales were high, and Rhode Island Lottery saw sales for Friday's drawing more than triple sales from the previous draw. Friday night's drawing also resulted in a total of 60,259 winning tickets sold in the Ocean State, including three big winning tickets worth $250,000, $30,000, and $10,000.
The $250,000 winning ticket matched all five numbers, but not the Mega Ball number. This player did not select the Megaplier® option, which would have increased the prize to $1,000,000. Colbea Enterprises at 207 East Main Rd., Middletown, sold the winning ticket.
Both the $30,000 and $10,000 winning tickets matched four numbers and the Mega Ball number. The standard payout for that win is $10,000. However, one of the winners added the Megaplier® feature for an extra dollar, which multiplied the $10,000 prize by three, Friday's Megaplier® number, to equal $30,000. Stop & Shop at 900 Tiogue Ave., Coventry sold the $30,000 winning ticket. The $10,000 winning ticket was purchased at East Greenwich Farms, 360 Main St., East Greenwich.
None of the winning tickets have been claimed yet. Tomorrow's estimated Mega Millions® jackpot returns to the starting amount of $12 million.
