$10,000 Mega Millions® Winner in Rhode Island $12,300 Keno Plus Win
One Rhode Island Lottery player started the weekend off on a high note when the Mega Millions® drawing on Friday night resulted in a $10,000 winner. The ticket matched four numbers and the Mega Ball number. The standard payout for this type of win is $10,000. The winner did not purchase the Megaplier® feature for an additional dollar on the wager. If the player had opted for the Megaplier®, the $10,000 prize would have been multiplied by 4, Friday night’s Megaplier® number, to equal $40,000.
The winning ticket was purchased from Shaw's Supermarket at 575 Taunton Ave., East Providence. The $10,000 prize has yet to be claimed.
Tuesday’s estimated Mega Millions® jackpot is $102 million.
A Cranston man also hit it big over the weekend, but his game of choice was Keno. He cashed in a $12,300 winning Keno Plus ticket first thing this morning. He wagered $10 on the drawing and played a 5-spot game picking his numbers based on birthdays. All five of his numbers came up which would result in the standard payout of $4,100. However, he also doubled his wager to add the Keno Plus feature, so his prize was increased to $12,300, when the 3 multiplier appeared at the beginning of the draw. He plans to use the money to pay off his bills and hopes to be able to visit his brother he hasn't seen in some time. Tommy's Place at 144 Westminster St., Providence, sold the winning ticket.
