Two out of Three Claimed
Two out of the three big Lottery winners from the weekend have come forward.
The $42,634 Wild Money jackpot was claimed by a man from South Attleboro, Mass. He said he checked his quick pick ticket the night of the drawing, but thought he was tired and reading it incorrectly. He waited until Sunday afternoon to check it again and inform his wife of their windfall. He plans to use the money for a home improvement project he's helping his daughter with. The winner bought the winning ticket from U Save Gas at 469 Benefit St., Pawtucket.
The $10,000 winning Mega Millions® ticket from Friday's drawing was also claimed today. A man from Johnston cashed in the quick pick ticket he purchased at Stop & Shop on Putnam Pike in Smithfield. It matched four numbers and the Mega Ball number, for the standard payout of $10,000. He did not purchase the Megaplier® for an extra dollar on the wager. If the Megaplier® was selected, the prize would have been multiplied by four, to equal $40,000. The winner plans to put the money to good use, paying bills.
The $10,000 PowerBall® winning ticket from the list of weekend winners still remains unclaimed. Greenwich Liquor Store on South County Trail in East Greenwich sold that winning ticket.
