Money Monday
The week has started off with some big wins for Rhode Island Lottery players.
Keno
A man from Manville had a lucky Saturday night when he won $12,000 playing Keno at Spicoli's Bar & Grill in Lincoln. He played a two dollar wager and matched all six of his numbers to win the standard payout of $2,400. However, he doubled his wager and played Keno Plus so when the 5 multiplier came up, his prize became $12,000. He said he celebrated right away high-fiving everyone and buying a round of drinks. He plans to use the money to pay bills and save whatever is left over.
Powerball®
Toby Dent, Providence, came to the Lottery with his wife to claim his $10,000 winning Powerball® ticket from the June 2 drawing. He said he'll put the money towards his mortgage. The ticket matched four numbers and the Powerball® number, for a $10,000 prize. He did not add PowerPlay® to his wager, which would have increased his prize to $40,000. Uncle Ben Liquor on Douglas Avenue in Providence sold the winning ticket. Wednesday's estimated Powerball® jackpot is $240 million.
Instant Games
Lastly, a Johnston man cashed in a $10,000 winning Baseball Instant Ticket. He said that Instant Game is one of his favorites so he plays it often. The winner plans to put the money straight into the bank. Shop N Go on Greenville Avenue, Johnston, sold the winning ticket.
