August 8, 2011

Rhode Island Lottery Powerball winner$10,000 Winning PowerBall® Ticket Claimed

The $10,000 winning PowerBall® ticket sold in Rhode Island for the August 4 PowerBall® drawing was claimed by a Cranston man.

The winner just bought a house and said he'll be putting the money in the bank for now.

The winning quick pick ticket was purchased from Stop & Shop at 275 Warwick Ave., Cranston.

The ticket matched four numbers and the PowerBall® number, for a $10,000 prize.  The winner did not purchase the Power Play® feature for an additional dollar on the wager.  If he had, the $10,000 prize would have been increased to $40,000.

Tonight's estimated PowerBall® jackpot is $212 million.
