Weekend of Winners!
There was no shortage of winners over the long weekend for PowerBall®, Mega Millions®, Daily Numbers, and Lucky for Life®. No one matched all five numbers and the PowerBall® number for Saturday night's drawing, so the jackpot climbed to $305 million, the 6th largest jackpot in PowerBall® history. In Rhode Island, there were two $10,000 winning tickets sold for Saturday's drawing. They both matched four numbers and the PowerBall® number for the standard $10,000 prize. Neither ticket had the PowerPlay® option, which would have increased the prizes to $40,000. Both tickets were purchased at Stop & Shop at 1360 West Main Rd., Middletown.
Mega Millions® also had a $10,000 winning ticket sold in Rhode Island for Friday night's drawing. The ticket was sold from 7-Eleven at 10 Dorrance St., Providence. It matched four numbers and the Mega Ball number, for the standard payout of $10,000. This player did not purchase the Megaplier® for an extra dollar on the wager. If the Megaplier® was selected, the prize would have been multiplied by four, Friday's Megaplier® number, to equal $40,000. Tonight's estimated Mega Millions® jackpot is $36 million.
The Daily Numbers players also got lucky last night! The winning number combination 1 9 3 9 paid out 161%. The Rhode Island Lottery awarded $97,479 worth of prizes, while taking in $60,299 in net sales. There were a total of 21 tickets sold with a prize value of $2,708 and 8 tickets with a prize of $2,500.
Last night's Lucky for Life drawing also produced some Rhode Island winners. Out of the 7,140 winning Rhode Island Lottery tickets, four of those matched four numbers and the Lucky Ball number to win $2,000 each. Those tickets were sold from Cumberland Farms, 1812 East Main Road, Portsmouth; Dan's Convenience Store, 2699 Post Rd., Warwick; Gemma's Market, 458 Cranston St., Providence; and Pleasant View Market, 200 Pleasant View Ave., Smithfield.
None of the winning tickets sold over the weekend have been claimed yet.
