$40,000 Mega Millions® Winner in Rhode Island

One lucky Rhode Island Lottery player won $40,000 in last night's Mega Millions® drawing. 

The winning ticket matched four numbers and the Mega Ball number, for a standard payout of $10,000.  The player opted to purchase the Megaplier® for an extra dollar on the wager, which multiplied the $10,000 prize by four, last night’s Megaplier® number, to equal $40,000.  The prize has not been claimed.

Stop & Shop at 70 Mendon Rd., Cumberland, sold the winning ticket.

Friday's estimated Mega Millions® jackpot is $83 million.
