Winning Mega Millions® & PowerBall® Tickets Claimed
The winning $40,000 Mega Millions® Megaplier® ticket from Friday's drawing and the $10,000 PowerBall® ticket from Saturday's drawing have both been claimed.
Michael Fitzgeraldof Cranston claimed the winning $40,000 Mega Millions® Megaplier® ticket he purchased at Phred's Drug at 1300 Oaklawn Avenue in Cranston. He actually won $10,000 playing PowerBall® at Phred's Drug last year. Ever since then, he chooses the PowerPlay® or Megaplier® features to increase his winnings. This time, it paid off. He said he might buy a new truck or put it towards a new house.
A gentleman from Swansea claimed the winning $10,000 PowerBall® ticket he purchased at Twin River. His Quick Pick ticket matched four numbers and the PowerBall® number. The standard payout for this type of win is $10,000. He did not purchase the Power Play® feature for an additional dollar on the wager. If he had opted for Power Play®, the $10,000 prize would have been increased to $40,000. He plans to put the money in the bank and he and his wife were going back Twin River tonight.
Tuesday's estimated Mega Millions® jackpot is $26 million. Wednesday's estimated PowerBall® jackpot is $123 million.
