A Winning Start to the Week
Rhode Island Lottery players have started the week off winning big, especially those who played numbers for birthdays!
The jackpot for Rhode Island's own progressive jackpot game, Wild Money, was hit on Saturday making a Warwick woman $107,668 richer. The winning numbers played, 1 6 12 23 29, were a combination of birthdays. She purchased the winning ticket from the Rite Aid, 548 Dyer Ave., Cranston. The money is going in the bank for now. The Wild Money drawings take place three times a week: Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday nights, live on WPRI-TV at 7:29pm. Tonight's estimated Wild Money jackpot is $20,000.
A gentleman from Charlestown wagered $5 on a Daily Numbers ticket and played 0 3 1 6, the numbers he plays for his birthday, March 16. To his surprise, the numbers came up in the exact order Sunday night for a $25,000 Daily Numbers win! He plans to put the money in the bank for now. He purchased the winning ticket at the Cumberland Farms on Route 1A in Charlestown.
Additionally, a North Providence woman cashed in $10,000 worth of Daily Numbers tickets from the March 31 drawing. She wagered $1 on two tickets and played 0 9 1 6 for her daughter's birthday. The numbers came up straight for a $5,000 win on each ticket. She plans to renovate her house and save the rest. Shop & Go, 636 West Shore Rd., Warwick sold the winning ticket.
Michael Kolb of Warwick picked up a Pinball Wizard Instant Ticket while at the Mobil, 1050 Bald Hill Rd., Warwick. He chose that ticket because of The Who's song "Pinball Wizard". He scratched and won $100,000! He already has the money spent on a new car and plans to visit relatives in Myrtle Beach. He'll save the rest.
Shortly after, a woman from East Providence picked up a Wild West Cash Instant Ticket at The Zone Deli, 615 Waterman Ave., East Providence and won $40,000. She is going to be a grandmother soon and is getting married in September, so some of her winnings will go towards that. She'll put the rest towards bills.
