$250,000 Mega Millions® Winning Ticket Claimed
$17,708 Daily Numbers, $15,000 "Crossword 31" & $10,000 PowerBall®
The winners are rolling in. The $250,000 Mega Millions® prize from Tuesday's drawing has been claimed by a woman from Charlestown. She and her husband have no plans for the money as of now. The Quick Pick ticket matched all five numbers, but not the Mega Ball number, for the "mega" win. She purchased the ticket at Shaw's Supermarket, 160A Old Tower Hill Rd., Wakefield.
Additionally, a woman from Pawtucket cashed in four Daily Numbers tickets to equal $17,708. She wagered $1 on three 4-digit straight tickets, winning $5,000 on each. She also wagered $.50 on one 4-digit combination ticket and won $2,708. She's played the winning number, 1 9 3 6, for 20 years. 1 9 was the day her father passed away, and 36 is the number of his tombstone. She says he's watching over her. Bravo Supermarket, 300 Barton St., Pawtucket, sold the winning ticket.
A winning $15,000 "Crossword 31" Instant Ticket also was cashed in. Jose Benitez of Providence says he'll use the money to pay some bills. He purchased the winning ticket at Charlie's Variety, 1308 Eddy St., Providence.
Lastly, the $10,000 PowerBall® prize from Wednesday's drawing has been claimed by a Cumberland man. He purchased the winning ticket while eating lunch at Chelo's, 505 Silver Spring St., Providence. He plans on giving some of his winnings to the American Heart Association as he has recently undergone heart surgery.
Tonight's estimated Mega Millions® jackpot is $83 million. Saturday's estimated PowerBall® jackpot is $95 million.
