$1,000,000 PowerBall® Ticket & Wild Money Jackpot Claimed
Plus $20,000 Instant Ticket & $10,000 Daily Numbers Wins
Lots of winning tickets have been claimed from multiple games, including the $1 million PowerBall® ticket from last Wednesday's drawing.
The $1 million winning PowerBall® ticket has been claimed by a Wakefield man. The winner came to Lottery Headquarters with his wife and two children, all of whom were in disbelief. The winner discovered he won on Friday and wasn't able to sleep the entire weekend waiting to come in to validate his win. He made sure to keep the winning ticket in a safe deposit box, so his wife hadn't seen the lucky ticket until yesterday. The couple said the money will go to their children's education and hopefully remodeling their kitchen.
Luk Oil at 333 South County Trail, East Greenwich, sold the winning ticket, which matched five numbers but not the PowerBall® number. If the winner had opted for the PowerPlay® feature for an extra dollar, his prize would have been $2,000,000.
Wednesday's estimated PowerBall® jackpot is $116 million.
Saturday's drawing led to a $32,440 Wild Money jackpot win. A man from Swansea, MA, didn't wait long to claim that prize. He hasn't decided what he'll do with his winnings, but hopes to come back to the Lottery Headquarters soon to claim another big prize!
He purchased the winning jackpot ticket at Dudek Bowling Lanes, 409 Child St., Warren.
Tonight's estimated Wild Money jackpot is $20,000.
A woman from Providence opted to play the Lottery for the first time. She chose the "Lucky Times 20" Instant Ticket and won $20,000. Her husband typically plays, and she decided to join him on a whim. They plan to get a new roof with the winnings. 7-Eleven at 65 Manton Ave., Providence, sold the winning ticket.
Friday's Daily Number, 3 0 7 1, proved to be lucky for a Johnston man, as he took home a total of $10,000. He wagered $1 on two 4-digit straight tickets and won $5,000 on each. He said that he always plays that number, for no particular reason, and plans to play it more with some of his winnings.
Shop N Go at 1569 Plainfield Pike, Johnston, sold the winning tickets.
