$30,000 Rhode Island Hold 'Em Poker Second Chance Winner
$10,500 Keno Win & $10,416 Daily Numbers Win
A $30,000 prize was claimed by William Andrews, Cranston. He was a winner in the second chance drawing conducted on April 24 for the Rhode Island Lottery's "Hold 'Em Poker" Instant Game. Andrews was very excited about the win and said it came at the right time as he'll be able to use the money to cover the cost of fixing his chimney. In addition to the $30,000 prize, five other winners were drawn to win $1,000 each. There will be one more second chance drawing for the "Hold 'Em Poker" Instant Game at a date to be determined. In that drawing, another $30,000 prize will be given away, along with five more $1,000 prizes, and one Poker Prize Pack, consisting of a poker table, poker chips, decks of cards and a $1,000 Visa Gift card. To enter, players enter their non-winning Rhode Island Lottery "Hold 'Em Poker" Instant Tickets through the VIP Club.
A Providence man cashed in on a winning 8-spot Keno ticket to win $10,500. He said he doesn't play Keno very often and had no reason behind the numbers he selected to play, but it certainly paid off when he bought the lucky ticket at Milk 'N' More, 1232 Park Ave., Cranston. He plans to use the winnings to pay bills.
Argentina Cuervas, Providence, won $10,416 on a Daily Numbers ticket. She placed a $1 straight bet and a $1 combo wager on one Daily Numbers ticket to win that prize. Her lucky number combination was 1 9 7 7, which was a birth date that she usually plays. She has not decided how she'll spend her winnings. Gemma's Market, 458 Cranston St., Providence, sold the winning ticket.
